Túró Doughnut Balls with Czelli All-Purpose Flour
Quick-to-make túró doughnut balls, fried to golden brown with a soft center and a lovely orange flavor. A perfect choice for a simple yet special homemade dessert.
Ingredients
For the dough
Túró 250 g
Czelli All-Purpose Flour 125 g
Whole egg 1
Sourdough starter 2 tbsp
Powdered sugar 35 g
Salt 1 pinch
Candied orange peel, or zest of an organic orange 1 tbsp / 1
Baking powder ½ packet
For frying and coating
Oil for frying
Granulated sugar about 200 g
Instructions
1. Knead all the ingredients into a dough.
2. Shape the dough into ping-pong-ball-sized balls.
3. Fry them in oil over medium heat oil until golden brown, then transfer to paper towels.
4. While still warm, roll the doughnut balls in granulated sugar.
Frying suggestion
Fry the doughnut balls in oil over medium heat until golden brown. It's important that the oil isn't too hot, so the centers cook through nicely too.
