Chocolate-Pecan Kalács Swirls

Soft, fluffy dough, a cocoa-cinnamon butter cream, and crunchy pecans, all on one baking sheet. With Czelli Soft Kalács Flour Blend, you can make a truly eye-catching, fragrant, homestyle treat.

Ingredients

For the dough

for 1 baking sheet

Czelli Soft Kalács Flour Blend 500 g
Water 220 g
Soft butter 50 g

For the filling

Soft butter 120 g
Granulated sugar 40 g
Unsweetened cocoa powder 25 g
Cinnamon 1 tsp
Chopped pecans 80 g

Instructions

1. Knead all the dough ingredients together, then cover and let it rise in a warm place until doubled.

2. Turn the risen dough out onto a floured surface and roll it into a rectangle about 5 mm (¼ in) thick.

3. Mix the butter, sugar, cocoa powder, and cinnamon together, then spread evenly over the dough.

4. Sprinkle with chopped pecans, then roll up one side of the dough to the middle, then roll up the other half the same way from the other side.

5. Cut into finger-thick slices, then arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

6. Let rest for about 15 minutes, then bake in an oven preheated to 180 °C (350 °F) for 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
