Fluffy Kalács
Fluffy Easter Kalács
This fluffy kalács is a true centerpiece of the holiday table. Its secret is good-quality flour, which makes every yeasted dough lighter and airier.

Instructions
1. Place the ingredients in a mixing bowl and knead into an elastic dough in a few minutes (easy with a stand mixer or by hand).
2. Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
3. If you want a braided kalács, divide the dough into 3 or 4 equal parts and shape them into ropes. Roll the ropes out to 30 cm (12 in) long, then braid them into a kalács. You can also roll up each long rope individually into a swirl.
4. Place the shaped kalács on a parchment-lined baking sheet, then, depending on your kitchen temperature, cover it and let it rest for 50–65 minutes.
5. Brush the risen dough with egg.
6. Place the dough in a preheated oven (conventional / top-and-bottom heat, about 180 °C / 350 °F). Once the dough is in the oven, reduce the temperature to about 165 °C (330 °F), depending on your oven, and bake for 35–40 minutes.
7. Let it cool and enjoy. We like it best with homemade butter.
